Caregivers-1871

Many caregivers in our community struggle with isolation, stress, and financial hardship as they dedicate countless hours to supporting loved ones with chronic illnesses or disabilities. This can negatively impact their own health and well-being, as well as the quality of care they provide.

The founders of The More Than Project know this struggle firsthand. Their mission is simple yet powerful: no caregiver should ever feel as alone as they did at the start of their child’s diagnosis.

About The More Than Project

We offer two larger-scale in-person retreats a year for caregivers to come, take a break, and get much needed respite. These events are life-changing for those who attend. We also offer one family focused event a month in the Twin Cities area for families as well as an in-person support group dedicated to the wellbeing of families who have a member with a disability.

Our initiatives extend beyond caregivers themselves. Through More Than A Sibling, we award grants to siblings of children with disabilities. Through More Than A Teacher, we provide sensory rooms to schools, creating more inclusive environments for students.

Through our events, both in-person and virtually, we have served thousands of caregivers and those who serve our kids, and attendees have reported significant reduction in caregiver isolation and an increase in caregivers reporting improved mental health, and a significant rise in caregivers feeling more connected to their community.

By supporting caregivers, we strengthen families, improve the quality of care provided to vulnerable individuals, and create a more compassionate community where caregivers feel valued and respected.
